Создаем файл, пример:

Обращаю внимаение, что тег релиза в этой конфигурации выставлен на 8.0-STABLE

Приступить к установке сервера nginx:

Компилируем его. Параметры выбираем под свои нужды. Можно просто оставить все по-умолчанию.

Приступить к установке php5:

Компилируем. В настройках выбираем обе версии CLI и CGI, а также FPM – он позволит нам запускать PHP в CGI режиме без лишних программ.

Приступить к установке модулей php5-extensions:

Компилируем. в списке ставим крестики напротив нужных модулей.

Приступить к установке сервера MySQL 5.5:

В приведенном примере мы перенаправляем все запросы, которые не ведут на существующие файлы на скрипт index.php. А он в свою очередь обрабатывается PHP, запущенном в режиме CGI на нашем сервере на порту 9000.

deymon, затем вы компиляторы откуда будете тянуть?? без портов банальных и дефалтных базовый запаритесь ставить, зачем себе усложнять жизнь? если уж усложнять тогда FFS и в путь.
По опыту могу сказать что первое что ставит админ, это mc так как данный фм тянет за собой все необходимое, и так всеми любимый mcedit хотя он мне честно не нравится, я по старинки правлю. Далее что делаю люди, правильно обновляют порты и мир. Верный ход по большому счету, так что базовая система складывается банально и просто и без лишних телодвижений. Накатываем фрю, можно даже без портов, кто не знает консоль тот запустит sysinstall и добавит, далее ставим мц, даже если не пользуемся, далее начинаем тунюнинг подсистемы, ядро( кстати если один сервак то ядро можно и собрать кастомное) далее начинаем кропать софт.
Тут по порядку. Что нам нужно, мы же крутые админы нам нужен сервер который выдержит наплыв в 100 к пользователей пусть хоть и сейчас 1-2 в месяц.
Извиняюсь за некоторые ошибки какие могут быть пишу по памяти.
И так php.
Сейчас актуально ставить для нагруженных систем php-fpm, небольшой экскурс что это.
PHP-FPM, замечательный патч, созданный и поддерживаемый Andrei Nigmatulin.
Предназначен он, для того, что бы довести имеющуюся поддержку CGI интерфейса у PHP до состояния, когда его можно будет использовать в серьезных проектах. Официальная версия PHP, стабильно работает только под Apache, через интерфейс взаимодействия модулей. И хотя Apache является стандартом де-факто в Интернете, популярность таких вебсерверов, как Nginx и Lighttpd не стоит преуменьшать. Достоинства этих серверов максимально проявляются в отдаче статики, но оба они умеют взаимодействовать со скриптовыми языками(их интерпретаторами), через интерфейс FastCGI. По своему опыту, могу утверждать, что хотя FastCGI работает относительно mod_php медленнее, но нагрузку держит намного лучше и более рационально расходуются ресурсы серверов. Работа, которую проделал Andrei Nigmatulin, революционна для всего Интернета, поскольку на еще один шаг приближает решение проблемы C10k(проблема обслуживания 10000 одновременных соединений) и этот проект имеет своей целью поддержать его начинания.
И так допустим вы все обновили и решили все таки начать свою уличную магию.
